The number started arguments before the bike ever reached the island. Fine. Here's what the arguments leave out: 179 kg. Brembo M50 monobloc calipers, superbike-grade braking hardware. Four riding modes, including one for the days the coast does coast things. This is the Panigale you ride to work Monday and up the Malahat Saturday without changing a single part. It just landed at Island Ducati, and a June buyer gets the whole island season on it. Straight talk: it's still a supersport. Clip-ons, committed position, built to go fast. If that's not your shape, we'll point you at a different Ducati and mean it. DM 'PANIGALE' and we'll send the full breakdown plus current availability, and set up a seat-fit. One number, taken seriously. 179 kg happens on purpose: a monocoque frame of roughly 4 kg, an 890 V2 that doubles as chassis structure, and a generation designed around mass before anything else. What that buys you never shows on a dyno chart. It shows in the first corner, the fifth stop sign, and the last track session of the day, when your arms still work. Straight talk: the 15 L tank is sized for sport riding, not touring. Panigale V2 896 from $19,995 CAD. Financing options available through Ducati Financial Services, ask in store. Come lift it off the side stand at Island Ducati, that one motion is the whole argument. DM 'PANIGALE' for the breakdown and current availability. "Am I fast enough for it?" We hear that one a lot, and it's the wrong question. The Streetfighter V4 was built so the answer doesn't matter yet. Five riding modes mean Monday in Road and Sunday on the Malahat are the same motorcycle behaving differently. DVO, the predictive electronics born in Ducati's MotoGP program, models what the bike is about to do and quietly covers the gap while your skill catches up to your taste. And the Desmosedici Stradale is the reason you're reading this caption at all: nothing else in the class sounds like it, because nothing else in the class comes from where it comes from. Straight talk: it runs warm in slow traffic and the 845 mm seat is tall. It wasn't built for parking lots; it tolerates them. DM 'STREET' to Island Ducati and we'll book your test ride, early, before the highway fills up. No spam, no pressure. #Ducati #StreetfighterV4 #IslandDucati #VancouverIsland #NakedBike

One feature, properly understood. Race A, Race B, Sport, Road, Wet: these aren't five names for the same throttle map. Each mode is a complete calibration of power delivery, throttle response, traction control, wheelie control and braking behaviour, changed together as one decision. Underneath all five runs DVO, the predictive electronics developed in Ducati's MotoGP program. It models what the bike is about to do, not just what it did. The result is 205 hp that arrives the way you ask for it, on the day you're actually having. Straight talk: the configuration menu rewards ten minutes of learning. That's why we do the walkthrough with you instead of waving from the counter. Streetfighter V4 from $29,995 CAD. Financing options available through Ducati Financial Services, ask in store. This is a real Saturday, not a brochure. 9:10, Malahat summit. 11:30, coffee in Lake Cowichan. 1:15, the Pacific Marine Circle Route starts bending like someone drew it for this exact bike. 4:00, Port Renfrew, ocean on your right, and when the sky turns, Wet mode is two thumb presses away. Home by dusk, and here's the part that sells more Streetfighters than any number: you feel fine. 178 kg and torque that lives from 4,000 rpm mean the bike spends the day working with you, not on you. And it asks little back, with valve checks every 45,000 km. Straight talk: cruise control is an accessory, not standard. It's a fighter that tours, not a tourer. DM 'FIGHTER' to Island Ducati and we'll send you our Circle Route map and set up the test ride. No spam, no pressure. #Ducati #StreetfighterV2 #IslandDucati #VancouverIsland #Malahat

One feature, explained like it matters, because it's the whole character of this bike. IVT is an electronically controlled phaser on the intake camshaft. As you ride, it continuously shifts valve timing: retarded down low so the engine idles and trickles through town cleanly, advanced through the midrange so the cylinders fill completely right when you ask for drive. What you feel is simpler than what it does: roll on in third gear at 4,500 rpm anywhere on the Malahat and the bike just goes. No flat spot, no frantic downshifting. A quiet bonus of valve springs managed this intelligently: checks every 45,000 km. Streetfighter V2 896 from $18,595 CAD. Financing options available through Ducati Financial Services, ask in store. Here's a post you don't see dealers write often. The new Monster generation is genuinely excellent: smoother, longer service intervals, and we'll happily sell you one. But there's a fact worth saying plainly while it's still true on our floor: the 937 is the last Monster with desmodromic valves. The valvetrain Ducati has raced since 1956, in every Monster since the first one in 1993, ends with this bike. That's not scarcity marketing. It's just where the line stops. What it rides like: 111 hp, 93 Nm arriving low in the revs, 179 kg, and that hard, precise edge at the top of the tach that desmo riders recognize with their eyes closed. Victoria is one of the only cities in Canada where a naked bike makes sense nearly year-round, and this one suits that life. Full honesty: desmo service comes around every 30,000 km, and we'll quote it straight before you decide, not after. Everything you need, nothing more. DM 'MONSTER' to Island Ducati and come hear it run. The new generation will be parked right beside it. #Ducati #Monster #Desmo #IslandDucati #VancouverIsland

Desmodromico

THERE ARE NO VALVE SPRINGS IN THIS ENGINE. THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT.

One feature, seventy years deep, explained without the violin music. In nearly every engine on earth, a cam opens the valve and a spring slams it shut. Past a certain rpm, springs start losing the argument with physics: they lag, the valve floats, precision dies. Fabio Taglioni's 1956 answer was to remove the spring from the conversation. A second rocker closes each valve mechanically, so it follows the cam's instructions exactly, at any engine speed. Ducati raced that idea for seventy years, and the 937's Testastretta 11° is the last Monster engine that carries it. You can hear the difference before you ride it: a dry, busy rustle at idle, then a top-of-the-tach edge that arrives clean every single time. Monster 937+ from $15,395 CAD. Financing options available through Ducati Financial Services, ask in store. DM 'MONSTER' to Island Ducati and ask to hear it run. We'll start it, then get out of the way. #Ducati #Monster #Desmo #IslandDucati #VancouverIsland

Fifteen minutes, minute by minute. Minute one: 795 mm seat, both feet flat, and the bike weighs little enough that nothing feels like a test you might fail. Minute five: harbour traffic, light clutch, easy gaps. Minute nine: you catch the L-twin's thump bouncing off the seawall and realize that sound belongs to you now. Minute twelve: Dallas Road, golden hour, and the question you walked in with ("is this a real Ducati? am I allowed?") has quietly answered itself. It's built in Borgo Panigale, same factory as the Panigale, and Victoria is the rare Canadian city where it gets ridden nearly all year. If you finished your riding course this summer, if you're coming back after years away, if every other showroom skipped this conversation: this is the bike we sit people on first, and that includes a lot of women riders. Straight talk: it's a city-and-backroads bike first; if your dream is six-hour highway days, we'll point you at a different Ducati. The Land of Joy, locally sourced. One feature, explained properly. The Scrambler's 803 cc L-twin cools itself with fins and moving air. No radiator, no coolant circuit, no water pump. That's not a budget decision; it's a philosophy. Fewer systems means fewer things that can fail or leak, and a 90-degree twin balances itself perfectly without a balancer shaft, so what's left is the part you actually want: an off-beat idle pulse no other engine layout makes, and 65.2 Nm peaking at 7,000 rpm, most alive exactly where Victoria streets and East Sooke backroads happen. The architecture traces to 1979 and has been refined for decades since. In a city that rides nearly year-round, simple is a feature you use every week. Fair warning: two riding modes, not six, and it runs warm in slow summer traffic. That's the trade, stated plainly. Scrambler Nightshift from $14,595 CAD. Financing options available through Ducati Financial Services, ask in store. DM 'SCRAMBLER' to Island Ducati and ask us to start one. Thirty seconds of idle is the whole pitch. #DucatiScrambler #LandOfJoy #IslandDucati #VictoriaBC #NewRider
